On November 23, the Federal government laid out its priorities in the Speech from the Throne including its continued commitment to a significant, long term, sustained investment to create a Canada-wide early learning and child care system that builds on previous investments.

The Federal government remains committed to its plan of $10 per day child care, with fees for parents cut in half by the end of 2022 as a first step.

Eight provinces and the Yukon have already negotiated deals with the Federal government, and work continues to reach agreements with Nunavut, the Northwest Territories, New Brunswick and Ontario.
